Course Description

This course is specifically designed for students approximately 8 to 10 years old, a developmental stage marked by heightened curiosity, a willingness to take creative risks, and an emerging capacity for structured and logical thinking. Through a structured introduction to foundational drawing and color theory, students will begin to develop a visual understanding of form, order, and aesthetic sensitivity. Collaborative group projects are incorporated to align with the strong social orientation typical of this age group, fostering teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving. The curriculum is carefully balanced to promote both technical skill acquisition and independent artistic exploration, supporting students’ cognitive, perceptual, and emotional development through art-making. ********* Note: ********* There will be no classes on the following dates: August 30 & 31 (Labor Day weekend) October 4 & 5 (Fall Break) November 29 & 30 (Thanksgiving weekend)
